Choir rehearsing for Christmas Cantata, December, 2011

Chancel Choir Schedule - Sunday Programs

Choir rehearsal is Thursday the 26th; we’ll spend time grooming “As The Deer”.  We will sing that Sunday the 29th.   Jennifer will also sing “Redeemer” this Sunday.

We will start rehearsing the cantata “Jesus is Coming” on Thursday February 2nd.  Steve Gardner will join us for this cantata as well.

                    Recapping our schedule:
    ·         Sun        1/29       As The Deer
    ·         Sun        2/5         Be Known To Us In Breaking Bread
    ·         Sun        2/12       God Who Comes To Save
    ·         Sun        2/19       The Heavenly Bells typically play the 3rd Sunday, but this is the day after the Bell Festival and it is just too much for them.  Should we sing?  Think about it

We will sing “Jesus is Coming” on Palm Sunday, April 1st.
We will sing “Love Crucified Arose” on Easter Sunday, April 8th

Good Reasons to join the Chancel Choir

    •  Belonging to a choir is more than just singing on Sunday mornings.  It is:
    • A time to praise God.  Praising God through music allows you time to connect personally with God as you meditate on the words and the music; singing to an audience of One.  Learning the song and understanding the meaning behind the words helps us draw closer to His presence.   When you truly feel the words and the music it will allow you to help others worship as they hear and feel the words and the music you sing. Read: I Chronicles 16:27-29; Psalm 100; Psalm 150.
    • A time of accountability.  The Chancel Choir is similar to a small group.  We laugh with each other and sometimes cry with each other.  We pray for each other and our family and friends.  We sometimes share our own life experiences to help others who might need encouragement.    Read: Philippians 4:4-9; I Thessalonians 5:16-18; I Timothy 2:1-4.
    • A time to share the talents God has given you.  We are not professionals.  We are a group of individuals God has chosen to bring together and sing praises to His name and share the message of grace and salvation with others through music.  We love to sing.   Read: Romans 12:1-8; I Peter 4:10-11.

Bell Choir Rehearsals     Director: Cathy Negley
    Wednesdays: September, 2011 -  May, 2012
    Treblemakers -- 6:15 p.m.
    Heavenly Bells -- 7:00 p.m.
    Bell Choirs (Winter Schedule)
Put music in everyone’s heart, including your own, by being a part of Central’s bell choirs!  The Treblemakers (youth) and Heavenly Bells (adults) are ringing twice a month.  Please join us!!!
The "Treblemakers" practice weekly on Wednesday from 6:25 p.m. until 6:55 p.m. We need committed youth that can attend these weekly practices and play at both services once a month.  We can teach you to play the bells, read notes and use different fun techniques.
The Heavenly Bells (left) practice weekly on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and perform monthly at both services.  We also hope to do a little traveling to other churches, nursing homes and malls this year, if possible.  We encourage all our past members to come, and we need some new folks to participate.  It does help if you can read music, but we don’t require it.
