A Place to Begin...Belong...Become

Music

Join the Chancel Choir

  •  It’s time to start planning the 2010-2011 Chancel Choir season…and we need your help.  Belonging to a choir is more than just singing on Sunday mornings.  It is:
  • A time to praise God.  Praising God through music allows you time to connect personally with God as you meditate on the words and the music; singing to an audience of One.  Learning the song and understanding the meaning behind the words helps us draw closer to His presence.   When you truly feel the words and the music it will allow you to help others worship as they hear and feel the words and the music you sing. Read: I Chronicles 16:27-29; Psalm 100; Psalm 150.
  • A time of accountability.  The Chancel Choir is similar to a small group.  We laugh with each other and sometimes cry with each other.  We pray for each other and our family and friends.  We sometimes share our own life experiences to help others who might need encouragement.    Read: Philippians 4:4-9; I Thessalonians 5:16-18; I Timothy 2:1-4.
  • A time to share the talents God has given you.  We are not professionals.  We are a group of individuals God has chosen to bring together and sing praises to His name and share the message of grace and salvation with others through music.  We love to sing.   Read: Romans 12:1-8; I Peter 4:10-11.
  •      There is room in the choir for you!  We rehearse on Thursday evenings in the sanctuary from 7:00 – 8:30.  Our first rehearsal will be Thursday September 2nd and our first Sunday singing will be Sunday September 12th.  Please contact Paul Kirkbride (719-597-3541) if you have any questions or feel free to ask any Chancel Choir members.

Spirit Choir sings during the summer months

"For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

Bell Choirs (Winter Schedule starts in September)
Put music in everyone’s heart, including your own, by being a part of Central’s bell choirs!  The Treblemakers (youth) and Heavenly Bells (adults) are ringing twice a month.  Please join us!!!
The "Treblemakers" practice weekly on Wednesday from 6:25 p.m. until 6:55 p.m. We need committed youth that can attend these weekly practices and play at both services once a month.  We can teach you to play the bells, read notes and use different fun techniques.
The Heavenly Bells practice weekly on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and perform monthly at both services.  We also hope to do a little traveling to other churches, nursing homes and malls this year, if possible.  We encourage all our past members to come, and we need some new folks to participate.  It does help if you can read music, but we don’t require it.
If you are interested and/or have any questions, please call Cathy
